Clash of Clans’ Brother: Clash Royale

Throw back to 2012, when Clash of Clans was released by Supercell, it became a huge phenomenon for young players. Kids in every age play it, even adults. After that huge success that came from Supercell, we thought or I though there will hardly be another game come from Supercell that makes a huge success like Clash of Clans until, Clash Royale.

Clash Royale was released on January 4th, 2016. Clash Royale is a real time multiplayer game, which means you compete with other players around the world at the same time. Clash Royale is a strategy game type, we use decks or cards to take down enemy’s tower.

Let’s get familiar with this game by knowing these basic concepts. We have 3 towers: King’s tower and 2 arena towers. When we take down 1 arena tower, it counts as 1. But, if you take the King’s tower down, it counts as three. Apparently, it is not easy to take those tower down. You start off with 8 cards per deck and you must combine your troops efficiently. An important strategy for this game is you have to balance your Elixir (kind of like the money to buy troops). In a game, you only have max of 10 elixir and they will refill gradually. You don’t want to spend those elixir at once because you don’t have anything left to defend your tower if your attack failed. Basic troops of the game are: Barbarians, Archers, Baby Dragon, Giant, etc… Each troops has different Elixir price like 4, 5 ,7. You have to smart in order to beat other players.

This game is a must for 2016, I encourage you to try this game. It’s super entertaining, but sometimes it also frustrating. You can compete with you friends or other player around the world. So, join me and try this game. We may become rivals in the future.

Kobe Bryant: Legacy of greatness

“Kobe Bryant is retiring”, “Kobe Bryant will retire in the end of 2015-2016 season”, etc… I bet you will see one of these headlines no matter what social medias you are on. Yes, this news shocked the world especially the fans of the purple and gold warrior with number 24 jersey, Kobe Bryant. After 20 season with the Lakers, Kobe decided to end his journey. As a fan of number 24, I’m truly sad but also happy for him.

Even though, he stops his journey but his legacy continue to pass on. He left so much thing behind whether it is on-court or off-court. This blog i will focus on 1 thing: Kobe Bryant, The Black Mamba

August 23, 1978 was the day that one of the greatest was born. In his early life in Lower Merion High School, he was a dominant scorer. With a high SAT score, he decided to go straight to NBA. He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornet and then was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, this is where legend started.

Kobe has such career with the Lakers and he is pretty loyal to his team the Lakers . He is only player that has most season played with one franchise for 20 years. He carried the team and won three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2003. Did I mention that he was the youngest NBA player to win the Slam Dunk contest?

Kobe’s career was derailed when a woman sued him for sexual harassment while he was in Denver for a knee surgery. His reputation went down, McDonald’s dropped his endorsement contract and he had to pull out the 2003 Olympic. The case was dropped after the victim refused to testify anf Kobe issued public apology her.

A problem can’t hold the legend down forever. January 22, 2006, Kobe made history. Lakers matched up with Toronto Raptor and Kobe dropped 81 POINTS to beat the Raptors. 81 POINTS, this is the second highest score after Wilt Chamberlain 100 points in 1962. The streak goes on, Kobe helped the Lakers to reach two more consecutive championship in 2009- 2010 on his own without Shaquille.

The Championship in 2010 is the final glory moment of Kobe because the star started to lose its light. Age is a huge problem, no matter how great Kobe is, he is still a human. After the Achilles Torn in 2012-2013 season, his career started to go down hill. He was out for for the season but when he came back the Lakers aren’t the same anymore, so is he. His stats became faltering: 22.3 ppg, 5.6 apg. Till now, nothing much have changed since last year, this is a sign for a legend to turn his page.

Beside a successful career, he also has a great signature shoe line, just like Michael Jordan. Before received a contract with Nike, Kobe had a history with Adidas, but soon he stopped the contract. Kobe became a free agent in the next season, which means he has a variety of options of shoes to wear while playing. After signing a contract with Nike, he did not have a official signature shoe right away instead he had to wear the Nike Huarache to play. He had to wait until the third season with Nike to have his signature shoe.

There are a lot of excuses for us to make when we want to skip works or schools just to watch him play, this is not recommended. I, personally, it’s excited for me to watch him play even if he is in his prime or not. There is something can’t be explained by words. The way he shoots, how he runs the team and even his air-balls are fun to watch too. Recently, when he announced his retirement, the crowd went wild wherever he comes. The crowd yelling, even though I just watched through TV but those cheering buzzed through my ears.

Kobe, number 24, Black Mamba,etc… He has a lot of names to be called and to be remembered. He has contributed a lot to the NBA, basketball won’t be the same without his mentality. What comes will come, it has been a long journey for a warrior who fight with all his will and power. Now, he deserves to take a rest and clear the path for younger generations to raise.

The Flu Game

               Do you wonder why I choose this topic for my second blog? Well, of course there is a reason behind it. You know, it’s that time of the year again.Thanksgiving, Christmas, party all day all night and also the cold of winter. The reason why I choose this topic because that cold and party all day all night can cause flu and flu reminds me of one the basketball game in NBA history. If you are a huge fan of the orange ball, you must have heard about “The Flu Game”. If you do not recall any memories about this game, then before reading this blog I want you to remember 3 numbers that amazed the words: 38, 38, 44.

               If you are talking about the greatest game of NBA history, you can not forget to mention about “The Flu Game”. Let’s go back a little bit, it all happened in game 5 of the NBA championship in 1997. Chicago Bull and Utah Jazz were tired 2-2. Many professionals claim that if one of two team wins game 5, that team will have up to 70% to reach the championship and the advantage is on Utah Jazz because game 5 will take place in their home court “Delta Center”.

               Michael plays an important role in this game, he is one of the essential part Bull can’t missed in the moment. 40 hours before the game, he was sick. Many people believe that is because he had pizza the before. Bull fans worried that this is a trick of Utah Jazz to reach the golden trophy. Despite if it is a trick or not, missing Michael Jordan will affect a lot on the team’s strategies and the will of fighting.

               Once again Michael amazed the world, Michael comes in the the court in second quarter when Utah Jazz is on the lead (36-20). Despite having the fever, he scores 17 points and helps Bulls to close the gap before half time. Michael doesn’t come on the court in third quarter and take advantage of that chance, Stockton and Marlone open another gap (8). This game won’t be called one of the greatest game in the history if Michael gives up easily and let Jazz to reach the championship. He comes back in fourth quarter and scored 15 points. Only 46 second left, Michael is double teamed, ball in the hand of Pippen, Jordan breaks double team, 20 seconds left, he is alone outside of the arc, Swoooooosh, it’s in, a deep three from downtown. The crowd is dead in silence, the Bulls will go to the last game with lead of 3-2. remember the 3 number i told you to remember? this is what those numbers mean, he plays 44 minutes, he has the fever of 38 celsius degree and scored 38 points. He has proven himself as G.O.A.T (greatest of all time)

                Air Jordan 12 becomes one the famous shoe in Jordan’s signature shoe line. They named it “The Flu Game” after the game. The first release of the shoe was in 1996 with the color wave called “Taxi”. The shoe Michael used in the championship game was put up in the an auction. The shoe reached an incredible amount of money, up to 104,765$. This shoe is like a dream to any sneaker-head want to have in their closets. but hey, the shoe used by the legend is worth to be expensive.

Sneaker Freaker

What’s up sneaker and sport fans, I’m H the Viet . There is a mistake I want to avoid when you guys are reading my blogs is I’m not rich or I collect sneakers a lot. I’m still a student and I only have a couple of pairs which only I use them  to wear to school. In my blogs, I will talk a lot about events in that period of time, sneakers, the history behind each pairs and show you different ways to mix and match your sneaker with outfits that available in your closet (I will take some OOTD and use them for example). Don’t just think my blogs will only just about sneaker, I’m a huge fan of basketball and as you know basketball is strongly related to sneaker. Once in our lifetime, we must have heard the name of the legend, who wears number 23 and leads Chicago Bulls to many championships. Yes, you are right! His name is Michael Jordan. Not just being successful in his basketball career, his signature shoe nowadays is an must-have item in every teen’s closets. In my blogs, sometimes I will do analysis on some of the basketball games that can be considered huge in 2015-2016 season. If you are talking about sneakers, you must know how to clean your shoe properly and be able to use some “sneaker terms” like VNDS, DS, etc… “Sneaker games” now is continuing to grow stronger and stronger, If you walk into your class room and make a quick glance, I bet there will be some Jordans and Nikes. Shoes or more specifically sneakers nowadays not only just an item to protect your feet, it is a culture now. Shoes are boring, wear sneakers!! .
